Violences Sexuelles
SOS Violences Sexuelles est une Organisation Non Gouvernementale,
laïque, apolitique et à but non lucratif qui a vu
le jour en Juillet 1997 à la suite de notre constat dune
très forte émergence des abus sexuels à Abidjan
et dans ses environs. L'organisation qui est une grande première
en Afrique, se propose de combattre ce fléau et les autres
maux qui les accompagnent (traumatismes psychologiques, grossesses
non désirées, MST/VIH/SIDA
) et dapporter
une assistance morale, psychologique et juridique aux personnes
victimes.

Sow Seeds of Peace in the Horn of Africa
This
campaign is supported by a network of organizations from the Sudan,
Somalia, and Eritrea that are working to promote women's roles
in peace building, political participation, and human rights.

Women's Committee on Peace and Development
Aims
to bring women into the mainstream of the Continent's efforts
to prevent, manage and resolve conflicts while ensuring the full
and active participation of women in decision-making for sustainable
development.
UNIFEM's
Africa Campaign to Eliminate Violence Against Women
UNIFEM's
goal is to increase information via media programmes in order
to transform public attitudes and put in place policies that will
ensure a violence free life for women and girls.
Centre
for the Strategic Initiatives of Women
Various
programmes throughout the Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and
Eritrea which work to develop constituencies for peace and increase
women's political participation in all sectors of society.
Life
and Peace Institute: Horn of Africa Programme
LPI's largest conflict transformation programme combines traditional
research projects and targeted action research with practical
support for grass roots peace building initiatives in the region:
Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia/Somaliland and Sudan.
FEMNET - The
African Women's Development and Communication Network
Through communication and information dissemination, FEMNET promotes
networking and enhances women's empowerment. FEMNET ensures a
quick and efficient flow and exchange of information on the organisation's
programmes, on inter-NGO and inter-regional collaboration with
respect to women's developmental issues.
WOUGNET
Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET) is a non-governmental organisation
initiated in May 2000 by several women's organisations in Uganda
to develop the use of information and communication technologies
(ICTs) among women as tools to share information and address issues
collectively.
