Building Bridges for Peace
Building Bridges for Peace is the flagship program of Seeking Common Ground.

program founders travelled to the Middle East in 1994 and recruited twelve
Israeli and twelve Palestinian high school women for an intensive summer
program in the mountains of Colorado. Click

The Bridge
The Bridge is made up of Jewish and Arab women who work together to promote
the status of women and peace in the Middle East, which are inextricably
linked in Israel/Palestine. Through monthly lectures, radio and television
programs, seminars, family outings, and meetings in Arab, Jewish, and
Druze towns and villages, this campaigns aims to build bridges of culture
and understanding between Arabs and Jews. Click

The Jerusalem Center for Women
The Jerusalem Center for Women (JCW), a Palestinian non-governmental womens
center located in East Jerusalem, was established in March 1994. Parallel
to its establishment, Bat Shalom, an Israeli womens center in West
Jerusalem, was created. Though JCW and Bat Shalom carry out joint Palestinian
Israeli programs through the JERUSALEM LINK, their coordinating
body, the two centers operate independently, maintaining executive and
organizational integrity. Such an arrangement is the first time that a
Palestinian and an Israeli organization have worked so closely together
for the advancement of women and human rights in the region, as well as
for the resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. To read more,

Peace Now

movement in Israel, PEACE NOW rapidly became the single most important
extra-parliamentary force for peace in the country, attracting hundreds
of thousands to its mass rallies and activities. The first and primary
goal of PEACE NOW has been to press the Israeli government to seek peace
- through negotiations and mutual compromise - with our Arab neighbors
and the Palestinian people. Only peace will bring security to Israel and
ensure the future of our people. For more information, click on: Peace
Now.
