Documentation Unit for Women's Studies (DUWS) Afhad University for Women
The DUWS is the first of its kind in Sudan and combines academic research and the dissemination of information through books and conferences. The DUWS is now heading the committee responsible for the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action. It also produces a book series titled Women and Development. The DUWS aims to highlight women's studies documentation and information through seminars, discussion groups, conferences, research, and collaboration with other organizations. Currently the DUWS is at the head of the move to create a museum for Sudanese Women, which will house visual material as well as an archive.

Sudan Human Rights Association (SHRA)

The Sudan Human Rights Association (SHRA) is a grassroots organization that seeks to protect the rights of refugees living in Uganda, northeastern DR Congo, and Northwestern Kenya as well, as internally displaced persons in Southern Sudan. The organization focuses its activities on three major areas, namely monitoring, advocacy and empowerment. It also offers advisory services to refugees and runs a resource center. Through these efforts, SHRA aspires to bring about fundamental improvements in the lives of refugees.

Sudan National Committee on Traditional Practices (SNCTP)
SNCTP works to eradicate the practice of female genital multilation(FGM) and other harmful traditional practices(HTPs) affecting women and children in Sudan. These are broadly defined as practices emanating from the culture and entail harmful effects on women and children such as FGM, nutritional taboos, early marriage and non-spaced pregnancy. They now have 13 branch offices in Sudan and in1999 received Consultative Status with United Nations Economic and Social Council(ECOSOC)
