Women Making Peace
Women Making Peace, founded on March 28, 1997, is a specialized organization created to promote reunification on the Korean peninsula and peace in Asia and the rest of the world. WMP engages in social exchanges and dialogues between North and South Korean women and facilitates educational activities-such as the Peace Festival of Youth-to foster a culture of peace on the peninsula. The organization also networks with other domestic and international peace groups, conducting research activities through the Korean Women's Institute for Peace Studies. It has initiated a campaign of "sharing food, sharing love" to aid North Korean women and children who are suffering from severe starvation.
