The Representative for the Prime Minister, Olivier Kamitatu, the Minister for Gender, Family and Child, the Vice-Minister responsible for the Budget and other Government Members signed the Engagement Act, ensuring Civil Society that they would be involved in DRC's implementation of the NAP and SCR 1325. 

This document was produced by a coalition of Civil Society organisations and represents their participation in the development of DRC's NAP.

WILPF-DRC is involved in national implementation of SCR 1325.

Details/Analysis:

The SADC, the regional organization that the DRC belongs to, set forth the SADC Gender Protocol in 2008. This Protocol sets out 28 targets for gender equality that must be achieved by 2015. By way of monitoring the progress the SADC region is making towards these goals, the Southern Africa Gender Protocol Alliance began to publish annual indicator reports on individual Member States.
