Women Encouraged to Work for Gender Equality

April 1, 2005 - (Angola Press Agency - Luanda) The provincial director of the Ministry of Family and Woman Promotion, Angelica Benvinda Gomes, appealed Thursday in Kuito city, Angola's central Bie province, to women to work effectively for the conquest of gender equality and dignity.

Speaking at the end of the act of the programme on the occasion of March Woman, Angelica Gomes defended the need to fight against illiteracy and discrimination in all spheres of the society.

The official pointed out that the institution that she manages jointly with female organisations and Churches developed efforts that aims to give access to education to all women of the province.

Angelica Gomes appealed to her colleagues to give an equal treatment to their children, thus avoiding discrimination in the family.
