Family Ministry Holds Seminar On UN Convention

July 23, 2006 – (Angola Press) The UN Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women will be analysed in a seminar that will start Tuesday, promoted by the Ministry of Family and Promotion of Women (Minfamu). The two-day event, which will take place in the premises of the Angolan Writers Union, comes in the ambit of the programme to commemorate African Women Day, to be marked on July 31.

The meeting is to be attended by government officials, parliamentarians, directors, chiefs of sectors and Minfamu technicians, as well as officials from the Pan African Women Organisation and wives of ambassadors accredited in the country. Will also participate in the seminar, representatives of political parties` female wings, religious organisations, civic associations, NGOs and others.

The forum will mark the African Women Journey, which occurs on July 25-31, under the motto "Peace, Security and Economic Stability in Africa".
