Angola: Zaire - Women Participation in Society Under Debate

June 22, 2007 – (AllAfrica) The Electoral Network in Angola's northern province of Zaire will run a conference on role of women in the society, from June 25-26, in Mbanza Congo, says a press note delivered to Angop.

Participants at the meeting are women of various classes of the society and seek to get stimulate for tasks relating to national reconstruction, the ongoing electoral process, active participation within political parties and fight against domestic violence.

Topping the gathering are issues such as strategies for woman participation in the electoral process, female vision of economic and political development, female leadership, woman role in times of peace, violence against woman, woman participation in electoral registration and others.

The event will be lectured by officials of the electoral platform, representatives of the Ministry of Family and Woman Promotion, of the Electoral Network, of the Provincial Government, political parties and organs of justice administration.

The Electoral Network is a non-governmental organisation associated to the Angolan Electoral Platform, whose goal is to sensitize and train political entities and civil society on electoral matters.
