Luanda Hosts Round-Table On Gender in SADC Parliaments

September 15, 2004 - (Angola Press Agency - Luanda) Partial detail of Luanda city which will host a SADC round table on Gender.

The country's capital city, Luanda, will host from 22 to 24 of this month a round-table on the "Dissemination of gender in the commissions of SADC's Parliaments", organised by the parliamentary forum of the sub-region.

The event, promoted in co-operation with Canada Parliamentary Centre, will gather members of the parliamentary commissions, charged with issues concerning the reduction of poverty, food security and agriculture, as well as management of natural resources.

On Thursday, the SADC's National Commission will hold a press conference aimed at informing the objectives and other matters about the event.

According to a source within the National Commission of SADC, countries like Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe have already confirmed their participation, thus awaiting the remaining nations to do so.
