WOMEN MPS IN PORTUGUESE SPEAKING
COMMUNITY MEETING

A delegation of Angolan female members of parliament are participating
since Sunday, in Brasilia (Brazil), in the first meeting of female
MP's of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP).
The meeting is aimed at outlining a joint action plan to incentive
women to participate more actively in the political life of their
respective countries. Some of the subjects being discussed include,
the "Challenge for Parliamentary Women", "Globalisation",
"Environment", "Projects
To Combat Poverty" and "Exchange of Experiences And Cooperation".
The Angolan delegation is headed by the deputy Joana Lina and comprises,
the deputies (MP's) Madalena Narciso and Beatriz Socola.
The event is set to close on Wednesday with a solemn intervention
of Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP) comprises, Angola,
Brazil, Cape-Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambic, Portugal, São-Tomé
& Príncipe and East-Timor.
