RECOVERY IN CAMBODIA
June 1, 2005- (UNIAP) With a request of Protection
of Juvenile Justice (PJJ) for intervention from the Department of
Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection (DAHTJP), a raid
was done in Ponleu Thmey brothel in Koh Kong on June 01, 2005, freeing
13 girls who have been turned into prostitution.

girls, ages 12 to 18, guilty of illegal immigration to Cambodia,
despite the fact that human rights activists and the women themselves
claim the girls were smuggled into the country and forced into prostitution.

GOVERNMENT ARREST 14 TEENAGE SEX TRAFFICKING VISTIMS
June 27, 2002 (Feminist.org) Cambodias Ministry of
Interiors Anti-Trafficking Unit arrested 14 Vietnamese girls
they had earlier rescued during a sex trafficking raid in the nations
capital of Phnom Penh. Following their rescue, the girls, who are
between the ages of 12 and 18, stayed at a nongovernmental organization
(NGO) shelter. However, last week, they were incarcerated under
charges of violating Cambodian immigration laws.

June 22, 2002 (HRW) Fourteen Vietnamese girls who are alleged
victims of trafficking were arrested by Cambodian authorities after
they were rescued from a brothel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Human
