180 WITH 24 IN CUSTODY MARTYRED DURING JULY
IN KASHMIR
August 1, 2004 - (Kashmir Media Service) In occupied Kashmir,
the Indian army continuing its state terrorism, martyred another
180 Kashmiris during the month of July 2004 including 173 men,
2 women and 4 children. Twenty four Kashmiris were martyred in
custody.
According to statistical data compiled
by Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, 25 women were widowed
and 76 children orphaned as a result of killing of their husbands/fathers
by the occupation troops during the period under review.
Twenty two women fell victim to molestation and gang rape by the
Indian army personnel during the outgoing month. Around 37 Kashmiris
mostly youth kidnapped by Indian army disappeared under mysterious
circumstances in custody during July 2004.
Indian occupation army personnel tortured and critically injured
633 innocent civilians and arrested another 207 persons on fake
charges during the preceding month.
In its orgy of wreckage and plunder, the Indian army arsoned 86
residential houses and shops during last month.
According to the details verified by KMS, 7554 Kashmiri civilians
are under detention at present in various jails and interrogation
centers across occupied Kashmir and India.
