OSCE Mission to Skopje helps raise accountability for election crimes
July 12, 2006 - (OSCE) A project to assess the commitment and capacity of State institutions to prosecute and punish perpetrators of election-related crimes was launched in Skopje today.

July 6, 2006 - (OSCE) Parliamentary elections in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia on 5 July largely met international standards for democratic elections, but violence and intimidation cast a shadow over the campaign, and election day, 5 July, was calm with isolated cases of serious irregularities, concluded the International Election Observation Mission in a preliminary statement, released today.

December 7, 2003 – (NYT) A Macedonian court has convicted Dilaver Bojku on charges of enslaving dozens of young women from Ukraine, Romania and Moldova, the Ministry of Interior announced Friday.

NATIONAL CAMPAIGN AGAINST VIOLENCE

February 11, 2003 – (UN Wire) Macedonian police yesterday announced the arrest of alleged sex slave trafficker Boijku "Leku" Dilaver during a Friday evening raid on one of his clubs near the Albanian border.

September 25, 2002 - The Gender Task Force has successfully conducted an Election Observation Mission to the FYR Macedonia. Now the Macedonian State Parliament will have 18.3% (22)Women MP's.

AMERICAN WOMAN TRIED TO ESCAPE SLAVERY IN ZAJAS VILLAGE

February 19, 2002 – (Realitymacedonia.org) Forty years old American woman of Albanian origin married a man from Zajas village in Kichevo area eight years ago, but not being able to endure domestic prison, she jumped last Monday and got severely hurt herself during the attempt to escape.
