This project provides analysis of the women, peace and security content of reports presented to the Security Council by the Secretary-General. This reporting is crucial to ensuring accurate and full information on the security situation as it relates to women. A critical analysis on the gaps, weaknesses, and strengths in resolutions and reporting should lead to more effective Security Council action, and also allows evaluation as to whether the presence of language on women and gender in resolutions results in an increase in the reporting on these issues to the Security Council.
Analysis of country reports is provided by the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security.
