The United Nations Integrated Office in Burundi (BINUB) was established in October 2006 through Security Council resolution 1719 to “assist Burundian Government efforts towards peace and stability, through coherent and coordinated response of the UN system." The main activities BINUB undertakes include: peace consolidation and democratic governance, DDRRR, Security Sector Reform (SSR), promotion of human rights and measures to end impunity. (BINUB)
