OF THE UN SECRETARY-GENERAL ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF 1325
10 October 2005
The UN Office of the Special Advisor on Gender Issues and Advancement
of Women (OSAGI), in coordination with the Inter-Agency Task Force
on Women, Peace and Security, is coordinating the inputs from the
UN system, Member States and others for the Secretary-Generals
report on implementation of Resolution 1325. In its presidential
statement S/PRST/2004/40, the Security Council requestedthe Secretary-General
to submit to it, in October 2005, an action plan for theimplementation
of resolution 1325 (2000) on women and peace and security across
the United Nations system, with a view to strengthening commitment
andaccountability at the highest levels, as well as to allow for
improved accountability,monitoring and reporting on progress on
implementation within the United Nations system.
Including the Inter-Agency Task Force on Women and Peace and Securitysystem-wide
action plan for the implementation of Security Council resolution
1325 (2000).
