On behalf of the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security, we wholeheartedly congratulate you on your new appointment as United Nations Ombudsman. We were delighted to hear the news, which is a real cause for celebration.. Your perspectives and support have been of enormous value to the advocacy efforts of our group, and through this work and that of each of our organizations, to women of peace throughout the world.
We are reassured that this appointment will continue to promote real and effective gender mainstreaming within the United Nations and offer you our support towards this aim.
Finally, our Working Group would be very keen to have regular coordination meetings with you so that we could work towards the adoption of a consolidated approach towards the promotion of women’s perspectives on the peace and security agenda.
