Description: 

In 2015 the Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review (UPR) working group will review the following states:

  • Session 23 (2-13 November 2015): Micronesia, Lebanon, Mauritania, Nauru, Rwanda, Nepal, Saint Lucia, Oman, Austria, Myanmar, Australia, Georgia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Sao Tome and Principe
  • Session 22 (4-15 May 2015): Belarus, Liberia, Malawi, Mongolia, Panama, Maldives, Angorra, Bulgaria, Honduras, United States of America, Marshall Islands, Croatia, Jamaica, Libya
  • Session 21 (19-30 January 2015):Kyrgyzstan, Kiribati, Guinea, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Spain, Lesotho, Kenya, Armenia, Guinea Bissau, Sweden, Grenada, Turkey, Guyana.

As part of WILPF's engagement with the Human Rights Council, WILPF's Human Rights Program works to monitor the Universal Periodic Reviews for gender and disarmament issues.

Analysis: 

The 26th session of the Human Rights Council came to an end on 27 June 2014 after adopting a number of resolutions covering a range of topics from persons with disabilities to the elimination of discrimination against women. Civil society will continue to push for a greater inclusion of women’s equality in the next session.
