National Action Plan: Eastern Africa

Nations in Eastern Africa launched a Regional Action Plan (RAP) on the implementation of UNSCR 1325 in 2013. However, the RAP has expired in 2015.

The aim of the RAP is to be a tool for Member States to benchmark their own responses and National Action Plans (NAPs) to the core issues of the UNSCR resolutions on Women, Peace and Security. UNSCR 1325 focusing on enhancing the participation of women at all levels of decision making and UNSCR 1820 urging for the elimination of all forms of sexual and gender based violence in conflict and post conflict situations.
