Women integrated in female organisations of the civil society Wednesday spoke of the need for valorisation of the social status of women in general and particularly in northern Uije province, in the defence of the rights and main liberties, Angop learned.

This is contained in a message read out at a meeting the minister of Family and Woman Promotion, Genoveva da Conceição Lino, held with 159 women from various walks, under the working visit to Uije that started Tuesday.

In the letter, the women underlined the will to have their social status valorised as a way of assuring them the right for full citizenship and inclusion in the country's ongoing development process.

The women also expressed their support for the bill on domestic and intra-familiar violence currently under debate and that will be submitted for approval in the first quarter of this year.

The visit of the minister is part of a huge programme of assistance and control to the concerned provincial departments, under the

Ministry's plan of action and goals set by the Government for 2009/2012 period
