MEETING: Angola: Female Journalists Discuss Gender, Governance

A seminar on Gender and Governance is taking place since Tuesday in Ndalatando city, northern Kuanza Norte province.

Promoted by the Forum of Journalist Women for Gender Equality and local government, the seminar gathers journalists from different state-owned mass media organs.

The participants at the meeting will discuss, among other issues "Local Decentralization and governance", "the initiatives for the implementation of equality in gender underway in the province" and "the local gender and governance".

The event is also discussing the role of journalists in promotion of gender balance in Angola and the importance to boost the interaction between media professionals and public managers.

The ongoing initiatives under the Administrative Decentralisation, are also being discussed in the seminar.
