This initiative was started to inspire people from every country to send a handmade doll with a message to leaders of the world. The goal of the project is to exhibit them at the UN by 2018, and the deadline to send the dolls is 1 December 2017. After the exhibition, the dolls will be sent to children in refugee camps around the world.
This initiative are two reports that WILPF contributed with the Human Rights Council that recommend stronger regulations arms transfer to prevent human rights violations. WILPF and other civil society organisations helped highlight how arms transfer plays in gender-based violence and identified key risk assessment questions for officials to ask when making a gender sensitive risk assessment of any potential arms transfer.
This initiative is the Femicide Watch Platform prototype at the 26th Session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ). The prototype has important information about femicide for all types of people including civil society activists, policy-makers and practitioners.
