Statement by Ms. Yanar Mohammad at the UN Security Council open debate on Women, Peace and Security

Ms. Yanar Mohammad delivered a statement on behalf of the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security at the UN Security Council Open Debate on Women, Peace and Security. The focus of the debate was the High-level Review held in recognition of the 15th Anniversary of the adoption of Resolution 1325 (2000). Ms. Mohammad's statement focused on the active role women must pay in efforts aimed at combating violent extremism and the need for the international community to support the work of grassroots women's organizations.
