2017 HLPF Thematic review of SDG2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture

SDG2 highlights the complex inter-linkages between food security, nutrition, rural transformation and sustainable agriculture. SDG2 links the eradication of hunger and of malnutrition to a transformation in agriculture and food systems, and to the empowerment of rural people, women and men alike, as critical agents of change.

2017 HLPF Thematic Review of SDG3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

Goal 3 seeks to ensure health and well-being for all, at all ages; and in all settings, including humanitarian and fragile. The Goal addresses all major health priorities, including sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, communicable, non-communicable and environmental diseases, universal health coverage and access for all to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and vaccines.

2017 HLPF Thematic Review of SDG-9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

SDG-9 is built on three pillars, infrastructure, industry and innovation, all of which are strongly connected among themselves and share the common goal of achieving socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable economic development. Over the past decades regions such as East and South Asia have made remarkable progress in achieving development goals in the areas of infrastructure, industrialization and innovation.

2017 HLPF Thematic review of SDG 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development

SDG 14 is dedicated to humanity’s interactions with the oceans. It covers a range of issues in the area of conservation and sustainable use, with seven targets and three means of implementation to respond to the urgent need for transformative change toward more sustainable practices. Oceans cover around 71% of the Earth's surface and perform a vital regulatory function in the global weather and climate systems.

2017 HLPF Thematic Review of SDG 1: End Poverty in All its Forms Everywhere

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development highlights the strong commitment of UN Member States and the international community to ending poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including by eradicating extreme poverty by 2030. This ambition builds on the remarkable achievements recorded during the era of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

2017 HLPF Thematic review of SDG 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

The gender-responsive implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development presents an enormous opportunity to achieve gender equality, end poverty and hunger, combat inequalities within and among countries, build peaceful, just and inclusive societies, protect and promote human rights, and ensure the lasting protection of the planet and its natural resources.
