Even though the aim of 2030 agenda is to allow civil society and women’s organizations to be stakeholders and be the key in implementing and monitoring the document, however, as the Guardian recently reported, in the last few years, almost half of the world's countries have implemented restrictive laws to inhibit human rights organizations.

Even though the 2030 Agenda is to work on 17 ambitious goals, there is still critical gaps in several important issues for realizing the full rights and empowerment of all women and girls.

193 Member States will meet on September 25 to 27 to adopt the new development agenda with an outcome document titled, “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” By 2030, the world aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, however the previous document is fragmented and continue to have gaps that do not solve issues of gender equality.
