2015 Disarmament
In 2015, key disarmament events will include:
- Nuclear Non-Proliferation Review Treaty (NPT) Review Conference, 27 April - 22 May 2015
- Conference on Disarmament, 19 January - 27 March 2015 (part 1), 25 May - 10 July 2015 (part 2) and 03 August - 18 September 2015 (part 3)
- Convention on Cluster Munitions Review Conference, 7 to 11 September 2015
- International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons 26 September
In 2015, WILPF’s Reaching Critical Will (RCW) program will continue to lead WILF’s work in pursuing the prohibition and elimination of nuclear weapons, and is gearing up to make 2015 a crucial year for banning these weapons of terror. WILPF is also looking to make serious progress on ending the bombing of towns and cities, preventing the development of autonomous weapon systems, and making sure the Arms Trade Treaty is responsive to the needs of those suffering from armed violence and conflict.
With our coalition in this area, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, WILPF mobilizes action to demand full and complete demilitarization and disarmament, for gender justice, peace and freedom for all.
