Mission:

The Global Effort encourages Police Contributing Countries (PCCs):
- to work with domestic training programmes to facilitate access of women to domestic police services;
- to establish a policy that sets the percentage of their contribution of female police officers to peacekeeping on a par with their national police gender ratio;
- to review their recruitment requirements and procedures for international deployment to ensure that female candidates are not restricted nor discouraged from applying; and
- to consider providing incentives for officers who serve in peacekeeping missions.

“We need more police women to efficiently do our policing work! Female police peacekeepers bring diverse skills to peacekeeping and act as role models to encourage women to join their police service showing that women need not be victims only but have a role to play in the security of their communities.” Commissioner Ann-Marie Orler, UN Police Adviser
