ISRAEL: Women, Children Homeless After Their Tents Razed by Israel in Negev

Dozens of Palestinian women and children were rendered homeless after the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished for the third consecutive time all tents set up in Al-Araqib village of the Negev region in place of their houses which were knocked down earlier.

Palestinian local sources from the Negev reported that a large number of Israeli troops invaded the village once again at dawn Tuesday and forced Al-Araqib villagers out of their temporary tents before tearing them down.

The sources noted that the troops confiscated the villagers' belongings and all vital needs they obtained from humanitarian activists after they lost their property in previous demolitions.

The villagers and political figures from the 1948 occupied lands staged on Monday a protest against Israel's policies of demolition and displacement.

Arab Knesset member Talab Al-Sane'a stated that Israel's persistence in its destruction policy in the Negev would ultimately lead to a great tragedy and dire consequences.

He stressed that the conflict with Israel is over the ownership of land and the villagers' steadfastness, and struggle is the only guarantee to extract recognition of their villages.
