ONE million women, countrywide, will today be marching to highlight the achievements recorded in the areas of gender and women promotion in the country.

This march comes ahead of a two day international conference that has attracted gender and women rights activists from all over the world.

The discussions will center around the "Role of Leadership in Promoting Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment".

The Conference will also discuss governance, peace, justice and security among other topics.

Rwanda has set a record in the field of women emancipation. These achievements have been possible owing to the central role of the national leadership.

Today, the country serves as the best example of how good leadership is critical in promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women.

The achievements registered in Rwanda, where women are now at the centre of decision making at all levels of society, are truly inspiring.

Many delegates to the conference, will be looking forward to getting insight into how Rwanda has managed to create conditions for the realization of gender equality, in addition to sharing knowledge and experiences.
