SOMALIA: Women and Children Ordered to Fight

The Somali rebel group Al-shababa has ordered women and children for the participation in the ongoing fight in the country, local has reported.

The rebel fights against the government forces and their allied troops of the African union troops popularly known as AMISOM in the capital, Mogadishu.

The senior commander of the Islamists, in the Banadir Region, Sheik Ali Mohamed Hussein fondly known as Ali Jesto said the Somali women are wanted to join the “jihadists” (fighters) in the country. He also, said they are wanted to be like the women of the Sahaba (companions of the prophet Mohammad). Jesto was on Tuesday speaking after the hundreds of women are said that they completed their “military train” in the region.

“Ethiopia, America, Uganda and Burundi have attacked Somalia in the war of ati-Islam therefore women are wanted to participated in the fight”, said Jesto.

The official has also added that if a woman is not is a position to join the ongoing clashes then she has to encourage her child to the fight by then giving them a gun.

He accused America of causing the insecurity in the country, saying America is bringing the killings and the civilians' bloodshed through AMISOM.

“The troops of Uganda and Burundi in Somalia have been sent by America and we have to fight them”, Jesto has added.
