Strengthening Gender Justice and Human Rights to Achieve Sustainable Development

This event will launch the joint publication of WMG/FES paper titled “Strengthening Gender Justice: Recommendations for the Sustainable Development Goals and the Post-2015 Development Agenda.” Additionally, this event will launch the WMG compilation document “Gender Equality, Women's Rights and Women's Priorities: Recommendations for the Proposed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Post- 2015 Development Agenda”, from which the WMG/FES paper is drawn.

Speakers from the WMG, FES-NY, Government of Timor-Leste, UN Women and the Permanent Mission of Norway will frame the event, followed by authors of the publication who will present perspectives from the Global South and share analysis and key recommendations for the Post 2015 sustainable development agenda. Brief responses UN Women and a civil society representative will be followed by a moderated discussion with all participants.
