WOMEN’S MEANINGFUL PARTICIPATION IN NEGOTIATING PEACE AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PEACE AGREEMENTS

This is a report published by UN Women, from the Expert Group Meeting (EGM).  The EGM included 50 experts from a wide range of levels and layers of peace and security processes and institutions. The experts included practitioners, women from nations affected by conflict and violence, academics, advocates, analysts, and staff from across the United Nations.  As stated in the report, participants discussed the barriers to and enablers of women’s representation and meaningful participation at all stages of peace and security processes. The aim of the EGM was focused on: exchanging, exploring, discussing and assessing.
