The report is a summary of a seminar held in Stockholm in October 2003. It highlights how women subjected to sexualised violence during conflicts are treated as witnesses within international criminal proceedings such as the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR). The report highlights women's need to come to terms with the past in order to continue their lives, and the importance of bringing those responsible to justice. It concludes with a number of priorities and recommendations directed at authorities, institutions and organisations that come into contact with women who are subjected to sexualised violence during conflict.
