Report of the Secretary General on Women, Peace and Security 2009

The present report is submitted in accordance with the statement by the President of the Security Council of 29 October 2008 (S/PRST/2008/39), in which the Secretary-General was requested to provide a report on the implementation of resolution 1325 (2000) over the coming year, including information on the impact of armed conflict on women and girls in situations of which the Security Council is seized; on the obstacles and challenges to strengthening women's participation in conflict prevention, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, and recommendations to address those issues.
