The UK National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security (NAP) is due to be launched in June 2014. This provides a renewed opportunity for the UK government to build upon progress made to date in its implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325.
To assist the UK government in developing an ambitious and far-reaching NAP, this briefing delivers guidance, condensed case studies and
recommendations in four areas:

• Supporting women's meaningful participation in peacebuilding
• Preventing violence against women and girls
• Working with local women's rights organisations in the design
and delivery of the NAP
• Developing impact-focused funding mechanisms
