“I would like, in this regard, to pay deserved tribute to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights which recently closed its office in Togo after having supported the Government, national institutions and civil society to strengthen their capacities in the area of protection and promotion of human rights.The eight years of cooperation, which have just passed, has enabled Togo to make significant progress in human rights. We intend to relentlessly pursue our efforts in this area, because we are deeply convinced that a company, or the rights of the individual are protected and guaranteed, has all the cards in hand to achieve its development promises.”
