CAMPAIGN: Genoa -Honors Iranian Women During Human Rights Week

As a part of its Human Rights Week, the Italian city of Genoa honored Iran's strong and vibrant women's rights movement by unveiling a statue depicting the face of Neda Agha-Soltan, the young student who became the face of the Green movement after she was killed by militiamen in the first frantic days following the election. The city also named a roundabout Donne Di Teheran, or "Women of Tehran," in honor of Iranian women.

The UK Section of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) Launched the African Women's Decade 2010-2020 in London on the 31st of July; which was the 48th Pan African Women's Day. The event was hosted by the Centre for Gender Study at School of Oriental and African Studies, University in London, from 2-5pm.

In reality, the programme failed meet the needs of a large number of women and girls. Thousands of women and girls didn't participate in the process for reasons such as misinformation about the process, and manipulation by commanders.
