The Inter-parliamentary Conference is organised by the Ministry of Family, Food Security, Women's Entrepreneurship, Microfinance and Children of Senegal and the international NGO No Peace Without Justice (NPWJ) in partnership with the Senegalese NGO La Palabre.

As many of you know, Feminist Security Studies scholarship has proliferated in recent years raising important questions and critiques about the implications of global governance structures and institutions on women's rights and gender equality, particular in areas of armed conflict and violent transition around the world.

The Conflict, Security and Development Group (CSDG) at King's College London together with the Africa Leadership Centre (ALC), is pleased to announce a call for applications for the Peace and Security Fellowships for African Women for 2010/2011. These Fellowships are intellectual and financial awards for personal, professional and academic achievements, as well as the recognition of future potential.

Africa Youth Trust, in partnership with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute invites applications for the third Training Program on The Equal Status and Human Rights of Women in East Africa (EAHUWO). The program is jointly being undertaken by Africa Youth Trust (Kenya) and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (Sweden) with sponsorship from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

Each year over 100 women from various spheres of Law Enforcement come together to discuss and collaborate how to recruit and retain women within this sector.

Second Moment:
Round Table Discussions (21st – 22nd August)

Third Stage:
Vigil for life. (23rd August)

As part of CEDAW's 30th Anniversary and International Women's Day, UNIFEM is holding an essay and photo contest from 8 March to 2 September in the Pacific region. The theme of the contest is "Promoting Gender Equality and Women's Human Rights — From National Commitments to Real Change."

In preparation for the substantive session in July this year, the Council will organize a series of meetings. The first one is scheduled for 22 April from 10:00 - 1:00 p.m., which is being organized by FAO and IFAD, in collaboration with WFP, the World Bank, UNIFEM, Heifer International, WOCAN, and the Hunger Project.
