On one specific day, prior to the October High level Ministerial meeting on SCR 1325, SRSGs in post-conflict countries will open their doors to consult with women peace leaders and activists.

The idea of performing for the first time, a global conference with transgender people, by transgender people and for transgender people, aims as final target to gather and give voice to a group sparsely represented in society, to hear for the first time, with the participation of members around the world and from all cultures, an overall consideration of their problems, demands and proposed solutions.

Women and men around the world have been using different technology platforms during their political campaigns and to continue dialogue with their constituencies as elected representatives.

In this era of globalization there is need to investigate gender in all its ramifications; in the areas of technology, education and development. It has become imperative that gender and its related disciplines or scholarship be integrated / incorporated in all areas of education and development.

The symposium « Gender, cities and local governance in the Arab world and in the Mediterranean region» aims to study urban development by focusing on gender issues and the role of women in this process because social norms related to gender are linked to the internal transformations within any given society.

From April 19 to 21, women's rights advocates, gender experts, legal practitioners and others will speak up--and speak out--for gender justice at the International Gender Justice Dialogue in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

As every year, the Women Peacemakers Program will celebrate the International Women's Day for Peace and Disarmament, with a public event and a publication!!

On Monday, April 12, 2010, Jennifer Leaning, Elisabeth Wood, Pamela DeLargy and Jennifer Klot will be holding a panel discussion titled “Sexual Violence and Armed Conflict: From Innovative Research to Innovative Policy?” to be held at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. The discussion is hosted by The Consortium on Gender, Security and Human Rights.
